Go and Chinese folk dance class are highly recommended to students who love to play board games and dance.

In China, Japan, Korea, it is far more popular than chess is in the West. Go is about building, not destroying. Those ancient rituals impart important values. The class will typically cover:
- Introduce basic knowledge such as Go history, termologies, rules, and proper playing manners.
- Teach various playing skills covering different phases: Opening/Joseki/Middle Game/End Game/etc.
- Review students’ games, and correct common mistakes
- Arrange internal games
- [Once the students get to some levels] Organize competitions with local Go players.
Language-wise, we would prefer to speak in Chinese. We will definitely teach student all the terminologies in English, which is very important for students to communicate with players who do not speak Chinese.
Age: 5&up
Requirement: No previous Go experience needed.
Class time: Saturday 11:00am-11:55am.
Material needed: Prepare a Go set (stones and a board).
Instructors: Guo-Zhong Zhuang, AGA 6 dan, Ph. D. of Computer Sciences, more than 23 years playing experience

Folk Dance in China is a highly varied art form. There are 56 officially recognized ethnic groups in China, and each ethnic minority group has its own folk dances. This class introduces the fundamentals of Chinese folk dances, body aesthetics, dance technique, stretch and strength. It is open to anyone who loves the beauty of the Chinese dance, wants to stay fit, relax the mind and body after stress from work or studying, and have fun. By attending the class, you will learn various Chinese folk dances, tips to maintain good fitness, and you will have opportunities performing in the community culture events.
Age: Adults
Requirement: No previous dance experience needed. Students need to wear comfortable dance cloth and shoes to the class.
Class Time: 11:00-12:30am
Material needed: Student need to purchase costumes for performance.
Instructors: Chu Qi , loves Chinese folk dance and has been dancing for almost 40 years. She has been teaching at the school since it established in 2005.
