夏令营 Summer Camp

OHCS Summer camps are designed to bring different age children together so that they can learn from each other and have fun together. Classes are taught by experienced educators who are native-speakers. Activities include storytelling, music, movement, arts & crafts, dramatic play, games, and more! The camp provides an open and friendly environment for students to improve Chinese-language skills through a variety of themes, and it allows campers to develop confidence in their language skills as they expand their knowledge and understanding of Chinese culture. Camp size is limited. Please register ASAP to secure a space.

2025 Summer camp Themes:

主题Theme 1: Chinese painting 梅兰竹菊 Week 1&2: June 16– June 27

 Chinese painting is one of the oldest continuous artistic traditions in the world. Campers will practice the basic brush painting technic to draw plum blossoms, orchid, bamboo, and chrysanthemum.  These four plants, called the “four gentlemen四君子”, play an important role in Chinese culture.  Campers will learn about these plants, their culture symbolism, and how to draw them with a Chinese paint brush.

主题Theme 2: Gongfu Panda-功夫熊猫 Week 3&4: July 7 – July 18

Animated martial arts comedy film Gongfu Panda set in a version of ancient China populated by anthropomorphic animals, enters on a bumbling giant panda named Po, a kung-fu enthusiast living in the Valley of Peace.  Campers will be acting out the characters in this fun story and learn 5 animals style of Chinese martial arts techniques: Tiger, Crane, Dragon, Leopard, and Snake.

主题Theme 3: Desert Oasis沙漠绿洲  Week 5&6: July 21- Aug.1

Desert oasis is an isolated area in a desert, typically surrounding a spring or similar water source.  Campers will learning facts about Desert and impotence of Oasis, making decorative bottle with layers of colored sand, rock painting, hunting for water source, making some cactus crafts and home-made ice cream.

主题Theme 4: Beijing Opera Face Painting京剧脸谱 Week 7&8: Aug.4 -Aug.15

Jingju Lianpu or Beijing Opera Styles of Face-Painting is a traditional special way of make-up in Chinese operas in pursuit of the expected effect of performance. It has become one of the signs to show Chinese traditional culture. Campers will learn about Beijing Opera, the different types and colors of face painting, and the roles they play.  They will also paint their own masks as home decorations.

主题Theme 5: I am a Magician 我是小魔术师 Week 9&10: Aug.18 –Aug.29

Magic camp is a perfect place for your children to learn magic tricks, develop self-esteem, acquire new skill and enhance their personality. At magic camps, kids will learn plenty of tricks to surprise and astound you. From coin tricks to making objects disappear, magic summer camps have a variety of fun activities to keep everyone entertained.

Ages:3 -12 yr: campers need to wear sunscreen, bring a water bottle, a sack lunch; a morning and an afternoon snack every day.

Camp Options: Half-day (1:00pm-3:00pm) language learning session is available for advanced students in the afternoons.

Summer Camp Schedule &Tuition:
Early drop-off: 8:00am-8:30am (Free)
Full day camp: (8:30 am— 3:00 pm) $280/week,
Half day camp: (8:30am—12:30pm) $230/week,
After-camp care: 3:00pm-5:30pm ($100/week)
