Your child\u2019s education whether it be monolingual or bilingual, is one of the most important things you will have to consider during their lives. There are many benefits of a bilingual education.\u00a0If your child is bilingual when they are ready to start school, learning in a bilingual school can reinforce their languages.\u00a0If your child can speak only one language, giving them a bilingual education can help them to acquire an additional language in a short amount of time. Immersing your child\u00a0into the language on a daily basis long term, will not only help them to become\u00a0proficient in the language, but will also be exposed to\u00a0other opportunities. Much research has been done on bilingual children and researchers agree they don\u2019t have any delays in developing languages. In fact, they are better able to focus their attention<\/span><\/strong> and ignore distractions<\/span><\/strong> (Cognitive Reserve), more creative<\/span><\/strong>, better at planning, more competent at solving complex problems<\/span><\/strong> and more analytical<\/span><\/strong>. They have higher cultural awareness<\/span><\/strong>, better social skills <\/span><\/strong>and higher EQ. <\/span><\/strong>Bilingual children have cognitive flexibility,<\/span><\/strong> make decision faster<\/span><\/strong>, perform well in logic, math, music, computer, science<\/span><\/strong> and easily learn other languages. <\/span><\/strong>Based on this, if we want to raise a whole population of children with exceptional abilities, it is our duty as teachers and parents to support and encourage language learning and to invest in bilingual education.
