After school Program at Oregon Hope Chinese school provides a friendly Mandarin-speaking environment for school-age children to learn Chinese in a comfortable atmosphere. The low student-teacher ratio (7:1 or less) allows our teachers to work to with each student individually and provide personalized instruction to each student enrolled.

The OHCS after-school Mandarin program is aligned with the OHCS Saturday program curriculum. Our teachers help each student to work on their daily practice to gradually build their Mandarin skills in speaking, listen, writing, and reading. Besides individual tutoring time, students also work in groups through games, projects, and arts and crafts that are relevant to the weekly learning target.

Students who are enrolled in the OHCS after-school program are recommended to enroll in Saturday Mandarin class, which provides weekly group lessons to reinforce the learning. Space is limited, first come first serve.

Daily schedule:
2:30-3:15 Arrival & snack
3:15-4:00 Group lesson time
4:00-4:45 Individual learning time (students work on their workbooks)
4:45-5:30 Choice time (abacus, calligraphy, origami, and Legos)

Tuition:
5-day program $449/month Mon-Fri.
3-day program $429/month Mon., Wed., Fri.
2-day program $379/month Tue., Thur.
Registration and materials fee: $100/year
